Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ cup yellow onion diced
  • 1 cup white rice long-grain
  • ½ cup orzo
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 tsp chicken broth better than bouillon chicken
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp parsley to serve

Instructions

  • Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan, over medium heat and saute the onions until tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the rice and the orzo and stir constantly while it heats for about 2 minutes.
  • Stir in the garlic and mix constantly for another 30 seconds or until fragrant.
  • Add the water, bouillon, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  • Continue to cook over medium-low heat until the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked, about 20 minutes.
  • Serve with a garnish of parsley, if desired.

Notes

Storage: Pilaf can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
