Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk dairy or non-dairy
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin purée - not pie filling
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar or sweetener of choice, 1-2 tbsp depending on preference
  • ½ cup chai tea - strong brewed
  • ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream optional, for topping
  • Ground cinnamon optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Combine the milk, pumpkin puree, and sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a low simmer over medium-low - it should have a few bubbles, but do not boil. (stir frequently)
  • Whisk in the chai tea, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla. Bring back to a simmer for another 2-3 minutes or until heated through.
  • Transfer to serving mugs, and top with whipped cream and cinnamon if desired.
  • Serve hot.
