Ingredients

  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • salt and pepper

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook the noodles according to the package directions, cooking to al dente, using a shallow stockpot.
  • Drain the noodles, reserving 1 cup of the pasta water. Set aside.
  • In the same pot, melt the butter over medium-low heat.
  • Add the noodles back to the pot, along with the reserved pasta water, Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper.
  • Stir well to coat the noodles.
  • Top with the parsley to serve.
