Ingredients

  • 12 ounces halloumi cheese cut into ½-inch to 1-inch thick slices
  • 1 teaspoon avocado oil
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Prepare the air fryer by lining the tray or basket with perforated parchment.
  • Use a pastry brush to coat both sides of the cheese with the oil.
  • Season both sides of the cheese with the paprika and garlic powder.
  • Place the seasoned cheese on the prepared tray (or basket) and cook at 350 for 5 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Flip the cheese and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes or until that side is also golden brown and the cheese is crispy on all sides.
  • Remove and immediately top with honey, red pepper flakes, and thyme before serving.
  • Enjoy while hot.

Notes

Some grocery stores call this cheese a ‘grilling cheese’ or ‘bread cheese’.
 
Leftovers
I only make this cheese right before serving. The cheese can be refrigerated for up to 5 days after making. It can be reheated at 400° F for 2-4 minutes.
