Mix together the dry in one bowl and then cream the sugar and butter in another bowl. Add the ricotta, followed by the eggs, and blend until combined. Fold in the dry ingredients. Do not overmix. Fold in the chocolate chips last.
Transfer the batter to the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
