Add the dry cake mix, spreading in an even layer, making sure to cover all or as much of the pie filling as possible. Do not mix into the pie filling – you want it to be a dry layer on top of the filling.
Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is browned. The filling will be bubbly. Allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. Serve with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream on top.
