These turkey cranberry sliders are a mouthwatering addition to anyone’s Thanksgiving feast or great use for holiday leftovers. They are a perfect blend of turkey, cranberry sauce, and sweet Hawaiian rolls that make it easy to serve guests something they will love.
For many, some of the best Thanksgiving memories feature families gathering around the table to enjoy the feast together. The hallmark dishes of turkey, cranberry sauce, and fresh rolls stick out in our minds and bring us right back to these moments we cherish.
Turkey sliders
In our family, Thanksgiving is not really the traditional “gather around the table” type of event, but more casual where guests mingle and help themselves to a Thanksgiving buffet. These turkey cranberry sliders are a great way to keep the conversation going by making it quick and
easy to grab some of the Thanksgiving staples we have all come to love.
Many of us are familiar with the work that comes with hosting a holiday at home. Responsibilities like cooking the food, carving the turkey, and clean-up detract from your ability to enjoy the party with your guests.
Our family started serving hors d’oeuvres for the holidays as a tradition passed down from my husband’s parents. We found very quickly that this allowed us to enjoy our company and minimize the amount of work to do at the moment.
turkey sliders with Hawaiian rolls
These turkey cranberry sliders were a great addition to our Thanksgiving spread by allowing us to cook and carve the turkey ahead of time while creating a beautiful marriage of traditional flavors.
Guests love this dish because of its portability and versatility. You can also expand the menu at your gathering by adding some new flavors like French fried onions or pepperoncini’s!
Here are some commonly asked questions
Can you toast the rolls?
Yes! Adding the element of a toasted bun to the dish is an excellent choice. This is also a great way to prevent the bottoms from getting soggy from the butter.
Should I use salted or unsalted butter?
This is really a personal preference. If you are happy with just a little salt to cut the sweetness of the cranberry sauce, then use salted butter.
I usually use whatever I have on hand because when I’m busy preparing for the holidays, I really don’t care about what butter I have. But I typically keep salted butter on hand & I love that little bit of extra salt in this recipe.
Hawaiian roll turkey sliders
How many can this serve?
You are most likely to be limited in how many sliders you can make by the number of rolls you have on hand. The recipe calls for 1 pack of Hawaiian sweet rolls, which usually contains 12 individual rolls. Therefore, you can expect to serve 12 people by following the recipe as written.
That being said, our store substituted the usual 12 pack in our order with the party pack. That included 24 rolls, but they were smaller and not the same large rolls you would expect – so I actually fit 20 rolls in this dish.
Can I use brown mustard?
Yes, absolutely, that will work just fine. I have tried this with both yellow and brown mustard and they are delicious either way.
How do you make turkey cranberry sliders?
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Coat a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray or oil.
- Remove the rolls from the package in one piece.
- Cut the rolls in half lengthwise.
- Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared dish.
- Layer with the turkey, cranberry sauce, and cheese.
- Add the tops of the rolls.
- Melt the butter in the microwave and whisk in the mustard, Worcestershire sauce, dried onions, salt, and pepper.

Can I use sliced turkey?
Yes – of course. If you don’t happen to have turkey leftovers, you can definitely make these sliders using sliced (lunch meat) turkey. I recommend using 2-3 slices per roll, depending on how thick the meat is sliced.
cranberry turkey sandwich
To make turkey cranberry sliders you will need:
- Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
- pulled turkey (leftovers work great)
- cranberry sauce
- cheese (we like provolone)
- butter
- yellow mustard
- Worcestershire sauce
- dried minced onions
- salt
- pepper
- parmesan cheese
- dried parsley
How long should I leave these out for guests to eat?
It is best for food to either remain hot or remain cold. After about one hour, the temperature of food that was once hot or cold becomes just right for microorganisms to call it home. It is best to place it in the fridge after leaving it out for about 60 minutes.
What is the best way to store leftover turkey cranberry sliders?
Just keep it refrigerated for up to 7 days. As long as you don’t let it sit out at room temperature for too long, this should keep well when chilled.
