Snickers Cake Mix Bars are a super easy bar recipe loaded with your favorite Snickers Candy Bars. Simple & quick to make with just 4 ingredients, these are a family favorite for sure.
Who loves quick & easy dessert recipes? We have a ton of candy in the house right now. Sometimes I really just want something that incorporates the candy without having to sit there & open each & every single one to get my sugar fix.
I love sweets- no secret there. So these Snickers Cake Mix Bars really fit the bill here. They really take care of my craving for cake & chewy cookies but have the ease of not having to frost either one since the Snickers are packed in there.
It is no secret, I love my treats. I am also quite impatient & so the quicker the better when it comes to goodies. No complicated steps or a whole lot of ingredients. Just delicious goodness right here!
Growing up my mom baked a lot. There was always some sort of treat in the oven because she sure loved to make goodies. Super easy dessert bars recipes that have been passed down from my grandmother sure made it almost effortless to always have something special for after dinner.
I mean, just because recipes like this only call for a handful of ingredients doesn’t mean that they aren’t just as loved as the ones that are far more complicated. You really don’t have to spend a ton of time to make something that everyone will go crazy for. These bars are proof of that.

Here are some commonly asked questions
Can I use another flavor of cake mix?
Absolutely. These cake mix bars are great with not only vanilla cake mix, but with yellow, chocolate or white cake mix too.
Can this recipe be doubled?
Yes, if you are making these for a potluck or party, you can definitely double this recipe. However, you will need to use 2- 9×13 pans when doubling as the baking time would drastically change if you tried to put all of the dough in one pan. Just bake them side-by-side.
HOW DO YOU MAKE Snickers Cake Mix Bars?
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Spray a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray.
- Beat cake mix, evaporated milk & butter in an electric mixer until combined. It will be more sticky & dough-like.
- Place 3/4 of the batter in the pan- pressing out to a thin layer to cover the bottom.
- Bake that layer for 8 minutes – just enough for it to start to firm up.
- Remove from oven & drop Snickers pieces – evenly scattered over the whole pan. Press into the dough slightly.
- Drop remaining batter over the top- scattered. No need to smooth out over the top.
- Return to oven & bake an additional 20 minutes.
- Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before serving.
Do I need salted or unsalted butter?
Honestly, I use whatever I have on hand. I have not found that it made a difference, either way, so choose your preference.

How many people will this serve?
Honestly, this really depends on how large or small you cut them. But I like to cut them 3×3 – totaling 9 bars. Of course, you can cut 4×4 rows to make 16 bars or 2×3 & have just 6 decently large bars. That is really up to you. I’m talking 3 bars x 3 bars – not 3″x3″.
Can this recipe be made with a different candy bar other than Snickers?
That will depend on the candy bar. If you wanted to use something like a Hershey bar that is mostly chocolate, then that would work great. I would advise against using something with a lot of marshmallows or nougat like a Milky Way or Rocky Road as marshmallows & nougat tend to melt in a way that leaves empty pockets of space & you don’t really get the full flavor that was intended.
To make this recipe you will need…
