Philly Cheesesteak Hot Dog is a twist on two iconic food recipes. Combining grilled hot dogs & the best philly cheesesteak recipe is over the top amazing!
If you love easy hot dog recipes – you don’t want to miss our Pretzel Dogs recipe that includes standard and keto-friendly versions and how to make them in the oven and air fryer.
We like twisting & combining our favorite recipes to come up with new foods we love. Most weekends we spend at least one day trying new recipes that we have added to the “to-try” board in hopes we come up with something that we can not only share here with you, but something that we will love to make again & again. I have been craving a philly cheesesteak sandwich in the worst way for what seems like forever.

Of course, it’s one of those cravings that just won’t go away until you go all out. Because of this, over the weekend we decided to take our favorite cheesesteak sandwich recipe & add a zesty sausage to the bun for an over the top experience.
Knowing this was going to get messy, we choose Chinet® Classic White™ for our plates, and napkins, and Chinet® Cut Crystal®, cutlery to keep the dishes down to just the cookware. I like using Chinet plates & utensils for things like this because they are sturdy enough to handle these big messes & heavy foods & yet are they are still tossable when the meal is over.
It’s all about family & enjoying even the everyday moments- like a relaxing weekend at home together! The Chinet® brand offers quality disposable tableware to help make entertaining a little easier, even if it’s just our large family we are entertaining for. Currently Chinet® Classic White™ plates and napkins are available at Sam’s Club – Find a Club.
Philly Cheesesteak Hot Dog
We grilled the sausages outside & cooked the cheesesteak on the stove in the cast iron skillet. Once all the ingredients were done it was time to pile it all together. Holy cow- these were UNREAL!
Like a classic cheesesteak, we added nacho cheese to the bun & cooked the provolone into the steak & peppers. That’s a whole lot of cheese, but perfectly balanced with the meat. We also gave it a little twist by dicing the onions & bell peppers & adding some sweet peppers for some added color & flavor.
