This Nutella Brownie Recipe makes the VERY BEST thick & chewy brownies with a perfectly crackly top. Just one-bowl & 4-ingredients needed!
Do you love brownies? I am completely obsessed. Almost every week I have my daughter whip up a batch & they are gone almost as quickly as we make them.
Seems I am not the only one that LOVES brownies in this house. So since we make them so often, it just makes sense that we keep it simple & easy. Which is why I love this Nutella Brownie Recipe so much.
You see, these can not only be made in one bowl, but they only require 4 ingredients. That makes them officially just as easy as pulling out a box of mix.
I really love that these come together so quickly too. Nothing too complicated & I can still have my daughter command the brownie-making duties.
It really is just so easy. Just mix & bake – that’s it.

There’s just something so good about a thick & chewy brownie. I happen to be one that loves the edges. How about you? Are you an edge or a center person when it comes to brownies?
I know people sit firmly in one camp or the other. I just happen to love how chewy & buttery the edges are. Reminds me of the brownies my mom would make when I was growing up. That was our little guilty pleasure after a long week – a pan of brownies for us to share. Good times!!
Here are some commonly asked questions
Can I leave out the salt?
Yes, absolutely. I like that the salt cuts the sweetness just a bit. But if you are trying to cut salt in your diet, then you can skip that part of this recipe.
Can these brownies be frozen?
Yes, you can freeze these brownies. Just be sure to package them in an airtight container, label with the date & then thaw overnight in the refrigerator when you are ready to enjoy them.
What is the best way to store these brownies?
The easiest way to store any leftover brownies is to cover the baking pan with plastic wrap or tin foil & keep at room temperature until you are ready to enjoy again.
How do I make these brownies thicker & fluffier?
For thicker, cake-like brownies, just add 1/2 tsp of baking soda to this recipe. This will give you a less fudgy brownie, but still good if you ask me.
Do these brownies have a strong Nutella or hazelnut flavor?
No, the overall flavor is just like a regular brownie – chocolate. You won’t get a huge pop of that Nutella flavor in these brownies, but the Nutella just makes it easy to have thick, whipped chocolate flavor to make these babies come to life.
HOW DO YOU MAKE Nutella Brownies?
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper & set aside.
- Combine Nutella & eggs in a medium mixing bowl & whisk until combined.
- Add flour & salt & stir until no lumps remain.
- Transfer to the prepared pan.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until the toothpick test comes out clean.
Can I make this recipe gluten-free?
Yes, absolutely! I recommend using a 1:1 flour like this one as I don’t believe it would require additional ingredients that are typically called for when trying to make baked recipes in a gluten-free version. Please come back & tell me how they turned out.
Can this recipe be doubled?
I love to double this recipe. This works really well when I am bringing these to a big gathering. Just mix all the doubled ingredients together & then separate into 2 separate 8×8 pans. I don’t know how it will change the baking time or final result if you were to try to bake the doubled ingredients in one larger pan.
How to cut these Nutella brownies?
There are many ways to do this depending on how many you want & the appetites of those you are serving. But I like to cut them 3×3 – totaling 9 brownies. Of course, you can cut 4×4 rows for 12 brownies or 2×2 & have just 4 super large brownies. That is really up to you. (note – I’m talking 3 brownies x 3 brownies – NOT 3″x3″)
