M&M’s Cookie Dough Bites are an easy to make dessert recipe with egg-free cookie dough. Loaded with M&M’s, these are sure to be a favorite of every chocolate & cookie dough lover around.
I have a confession to make. I really LOVE M&M’s. Like really, really love them. My favorite NASCAR driver is Kyle Busch – partly (mostly) because he drives the M&M’s car. At least that’s why I chose him as my favorite driver years ago.
But really – I can’t get enough & it seems I’m always picking up a bag of either the Milk Chocolate M&M’s or the Peanut M&M’s & then usually whatever specialty holiday version is out. Because…well, you know they just taste different when they are decorated for a holiday – right??!! 🙂
But there I was standing there trying to explain to the hubs why I needed so many bags of M&M’s when he opened my baking cabinet & found MULTIPLE bags in there.

I sort of like to hoard them a little & sometimes have a hard time using them for recipes. I just feel better knowing I have them in abundance & get a little weary when my supply dwindles.
So I promised the hubs I would start making some goodies with them. I finally made one recipe that had been on my mind for months.
Don’t the colors just make you happy? Brings back so many happy memories from childhood.
I’ll tell you something else – I have a quirk. I have to eat them in pairs. Is that weird?
But not just any pairs- they have to be matching colors or coordinating colors if I run out of matches. It’s not like a completely “I’m a loon” sort of quirk. I CAN eat them like regular people.
But the part of me that likes organization just prefers it that way if it’s possible. 🙂 Hehehe – bet you didn’t think you would learn so much about me today, did you?!
Egg Free Cookie Dough
Here are some commonly asked questions
Can I make this with gluten-free flour instead?
Yes, you absolutely can. I like using 1:1 ratio gluten-free flours but you can also use almond flour or coconut flour too.
Can I mix in semi-sweet chocolate chips instead?
Absolutely. You can change up the mix-ins using whatever you like. I actually started doing this recipe with mini M&M’s instead of the big ones because it is a bit easier for me to chew when the dough is cold. I also prefer the mini chocolate chips to the regular ones for recipes like this.
Should I use salted or unsalted butter?
This is a personal choice. I happen to like salted butter because it adds a bit more pop to flavors, and we tend to eat things on the saltier side here anyway. But you can use either one.
How many can this serve?
This will depend on how large or small you roll these out & how many each person wants. I think I ended up with about 16-20.

Can this recipe be doubled?
You can, depending on how many kids are home and how many people I have to share with makes all the difference in whether I make this as is, or if I decide to double it.
HOW DO YOU MAKE M&M’s Cookie Dough Bites?
- Beat butter, brown sugar & sugar in mixer until light and fluffy.
- Add milk, vanilla & flour – beat until combined.
- Fold in M&M’s.
- Scoop out dough with a spoon & roll between your hands to make a ball.
- Place on parchment lined baking sheet & repeat with remaining dough.
- Refrigerate approx 1 hour to firm up.
- Store in airtight container.
What is the best way to store leftover Cookie Dough Bites?
The easiest way is to place in a zip-top bag or airtight container and refrigerate. Allow to come close to room temperature before eating as the dough will be more creamy & overall more enjoyable this way.
Can I Freeze Cookie Dough Bites?
Yes, but the dough tends to dry out a bit. It might be better to freeze the dough in a log and then thaw & roll fresh when you are ready to enjoy. Just be sure to wrap tightly with plastic wrap before freezing.

I can’t wait to try these, my husband and son love cookie dough but I don’t like them eating it b/c of the raw eggs. Love that this doesn’t have that. Thanks for sharing! #client

Yes – you can use almond or coconut milk. I have never tried it, but the texture & consistency should remain the same.
