Italian Garlic Butter is loaded with parsley, garlic and parmesan cheese. perfect for adding to french bread, dinner rolls or on your favorite filet.
I think I have finally made something that I can spread on nearly everything. You know those things that you make & then you wonder how on earth you ever lived before you made it?! Yea- this Italian Garlic Butter is one of those things.
You know why? Because I usually use all these ingredients together for so many things- only I have always done it in steps. Well- now that I combined it into an all-in-one spread I have cut my time & made life in the kitchen so simple.
Herbed Garlic Butter
You can use it for making a simple garlic bread.
Just spread on your french loaf & then place in the broiler for a couple minutes.

You can melt it in some super cute ramekins & use it as a dip for your lobster.
Good for just spreading on a dinner roll. I like to make this in bulk, place in my favorite jars & store in the freezer so that I always have some on hand.
Here are some commonly asked questions
Can I make this recipe if I don’t have a stand mixer?
Yes, you can use a handheld mixer if your butter is soft. If you want to use a rubber spatula or whisk & mix by hand, just make sure your butter is REALLY soft, but not melted before getting started.
Can I use chilled butter to make this recipe?
I would advise against this, even if you are using an upright mixer. I made this once when my butter wasn’t as soft as it could have been. My wire whip ended up getting pretty twisted. So please use room temperature, softened butter.
HOW DO YOU MAKE Italian Garlic Butter?
- Add your butter to you mixer bowl & beat on high for several minutes using the paddle attachment.
- After the butter is creamy- add in your other ingredients & continue beating another several minutes.
- Transfer to an airtight container & store refrigerated as you would your regular butter.
Compound Butter Recipe
Would be great when making something like a tuna melt- instead of the usual margarine on the outside.

Make it in the oven by roasted garlic heads with a little olive oil on them wrapped up in foil

How does a person make grlic paste? Is it just mashed up roasted garlic?
Gina Kleinworth says
You can grind the garlic cloves in a food processor or pick up a tube of garlic past here https://amzn.to/2UPeDXl or at your local grocer.
Sharon says
If you can’t find garlic paste…1 tsp = 1 lg garlic clove,.
I also use this butter to spread on 1 side of 2 slices of sour dough bread, grill them on stove top, Med, about 5 minutes, then make a meat/cheese, loaded sandwich ! Excellent!

I use this recipe all the time! I spread some on sourdough bread and it makes the BEST grilled cheese!

I made this recipe yesterday to go along some beef tenderloin steaks and also with a loaf of bread. We even ended up putting some on our baked potatoes as well. OMG! Our guests loved it! This will be my new “go-to” herb butter” recipe! No need to change anything. Thank you so much for sharing it!

What kind of parmesan cheese is recommended? Fresh shredded kind? Or the dry crumb kind like the Kraft stuff? Or does it not matter?
Gina Kleinworth says
The grated powder blends best. But sometimes I’ll do half and half for added texture.
