Just LOOK AT THAT! It’s just as good as it looks – actually EVEN BETTER! This recipe is great because it is dump & go, which is a big deal for me.
I don’t like a ton of complicated steps. I want things easy enough that I can pass dinner off to the kids while I wrap up things here in the office.
This recipe is certainly that way. Unlike a lot of Instant Pot recipes out there, this is just as simple as my slow-cooker method. You can’t beat that because it is SO MUCH FASTER!
Here are some commonly asked questions
What kind of meat do I need to make Beef Broccoli?
Many people will use flank steak that is sliced across the grain. I have done that in the past with great results. But this time I was quite pleased with this thinly sliced carne asada. It was all I could find at the store & I was already picking some up for another recipe. It really turned out great.
What if I don’t have a pressure cooker?
Good news! I you can try my slow cooker beef broccoli which is just as easy. It is a family favorite.
Can I use my Instant Pot to make the rice too?
Yes you can. I would suggest that you make it before making the beef broccoli & just transfer the cooked rice to another bowl while making the beef.

Sounds delicious. I don’t have an Instapot, but I’m sure I could adapt this to the stove top. Thanks for sharing on Merry Monday.

I have a slow cooker version that’s pretty delicious & super easy too.
Loretta says
I am dying to make this….. I have the broccoli but only chicken in the house. If I sub the chicken for the beef I know it won’t be the same but the sauce sounds great. Thinking I need to cook it less time. Any thoughts? I’ll make it the right way when I can get to the store.
Gina Kleinworth says
Hi Loretta – to substitute with chicken, make sure to first cut into bite-sized pieces, sautee the chicken with the sautee feature in your IP – then add the other ingredients. Cover & cook for 6 minutes on manual & then quick release. Then continue with the remaining instructions after the meat is cooked.

Gina……
Fantastic! Thanks so much!

Can I put in frozen meat and broccoli?
Gina Kleinworth says
Yes – you can do frozen beef. Just cook for 15 minutes instead of 10. Since you need to steam the broccoli prior to adding to the pot anyway, you can use frozen. I usually just add it to a bowl of water & microwave for about 10-12 minutes before adding to the pot.

Tried this recipe tonight. It’s excellent! I used angus stew beef and sliced the pieces thinner. My only critique is to add 1-2 minutes to the pressure cooker time. The meat was a little chewy. Other than that I followed the directions exactly.
Thank you for my new favorite recipe.

Can I halve this recipe?
Gina Kleinworth says
Yes, you can. The cooking time remains the same.

I am disabled and I have a home health gal that cooks my meals for me she’s not familiar with the Insta pot but she made this recipe she did not turn it off and left the steam release and kept cooking for another half hour then finally I went in and turned it off now the meat is all shredded there are no chunks of beef. And I spent 14 bucks just on the meet alone. Not the recipe’s fault it was a cooks fault.
Kendra says
Should I cut the mean into bite size before cooking or after?
Gina Kleinworth says
I would do it beforehand. My apologies – the type I purchase comes already sliced – so I just go from package to pot.
