Homemade Holiday Playdough
Got little ones on your holiday list? I do! Between my 3 that still love fun little crafty things to all the neighbors around here & all my nieces & nephews….I probably have no less than 30 kids to buy something for. So I had a better idea – homemade gifts. I typically make homemade gifts for adults or maybe little treats for a family gift for the neighbors. But then I had the idea to make homemade playdough in holiday colors & scents. They are so cute & the kids just LOVE playing with them!!!
Have you ever made homemade playdough before? It’s so incredibly easy. I was able to make all 4 colors in less than 20 minutes. With just a few baking ingredients you probably already have on hand you can whip up enough of this to give out to every child on your list. With the red I used a gel food color called XMas Red & had to use the full 3 tsp to get it to that color. The green was just 2 tsp & the brown just 1. Obviously the white required no coloring added.

What did you use to scent the sugar cookie one?
Gina Kleinworth says
Since sugar cookies are typically made with a combination of almond extract and vanilla extract – you could use those. Or you can use sugar cookie oil scents as you could for the other fragrances for these.

What did you use to make wintergreen scent?
Gina Kleinworth says
Since it will be touched by little hands, I didn’t want anything harsh. So I chose to use the flavoring oils for baking – this one for wintergreen https://rstyle.me/+X9nwctg1aUPfBXKEZUqWFg
