Holiday Nutella Bites are 3 ingredient truffles made with Nutella and coated in a hard chocolate shell before being sprinkled with holiday decorations. Perfect for neighbor gifts and all your holiday parties. YUM!
I’m so excited for the holiday season. Mainly because I really love making treats. The best part is that not all treats this time of year need to be baked. Some of my favorites, like these Holiday Nutella Bites are so easy and take minimal prep work.
Don’t get me wrong, I do love baking during the holiday season. In fact, from November through all of December I’m baking nearly every single day. But there are times when I want to make something easier. So things like homemade truffles are my favorite.

I love these because it is as simple as tossing the two ingredient in the food processor and letting it do most of the work. Then you just roll and coat with chocolate. These are 100% addictive – don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Here are some commonly asked questions
Do I have to use chocolate chips for the coating?
No, in fact, you can use 6-8 ounces of candy quik, which is a melting chocolate meant for coating things like truffles. I don’t typically have this on hand when the craving strikes, so I usually end up using chocolate chips. But this is a delicious alternative.
What if my chocolate chips aren’t melting well?
Chocolate chips are actually made to hold their shape even when heated. So it is very important to stir in intervals as you are melting them in the microwave. Another trick is to add about 1 tablespoon of coconut oil or shortening to the chocolate chips during the melting process. This really helps get a nice smooth, melted chocolate.

Those sound delicious and look so festive!
Cindy says
I would really like to use these on trays for parties, but since they are to be stored in the refrigerator, will they get “melty” at room temperature?
Gina Kleinworth says
Hi Cindy – Just store them in the fridge and pull them out right before your party. They won’t melt, just become a bit creamier on the inside.
Gina Frainetti says
Can I freeze these? They look delicious but I would like to make in advance.
Gina Kleinworth says
Yes – these can be frozen.
Sue says
Hi Oreos have cream in the middle do I scape the cream off the biscuit, and only use the biscuit, these sound delish and easy to make, would like to try them
Gina Kleinworth says
No need to scrape the cream. Just use the cookies whole. Enjoy!

How do I get the inside to look lighter like the picture. To make it look more like Nutella. Mine are dark and look more like Oreo cookie balls.
Gina Kleinworth says
Hmmm – I’m not 100% sure. I think the lighter color you see in the pictures here is just the way the lighting was at the time. You could try using golden Oreos with the Nutella – that might give it a light brown/cappuccino color on the inside.
