Be sure to add these Broken Glass Cupcakes to your Halloween celebrations too!
You see, I tend to go a little overboard when it comes to buying cute sprinkles and decorations. I have all these great intentions, thinking I’m going to make dozens of recipes.
But then I get home, put them in the pantry and then life continues to be just as busy as ever and I never get around to making all that I had planned.
I may get around to making a couple recipes – but I still have SO MANY decorations and supplies leftover. That’s where cute recipes like this Halloween Candy Bark come in.
I can use a bunch of my supplies all at the same time and make something that everyone loves – it makes a huge impact because it looks hard (but in reality is so easy) and everyone is happy. Plus – it’s pretty tasty too.
Chocolate Bark Recipe
Here are some commonly asked questions
What is the best way to store leftover chocolate bark?
This recipe is best when stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2 days. Anything beyond that can cause the chocolate to bloom. It will still taste fine, it just won’t be as pretty.
HOW DO YOU MAKE Halloween Bark Candy?
- Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
- Add the dark chocolate chips to a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir. Microwave again for an additional 30 seconds. Stir again. By this point, your chocolate should be smooth and shiny. If there are still large lumps, microwave for an additional 15 seconds and stir again.
- Pour the chocolate onto the prepared parchment paper and spread it out until it is 1/4” thick. This is easiest to do with an offset spatula.
- Add any sprinkles, candy, or decorations while the chocolate is still wet— work quickly as it will start to harden immediately.
- Repeat with the remaining chocolate flavors, sprinkles, and toppings.
- Transfer the chocolate bark to the freezer and allow it to set for at least 30 minutes.
- While the chocolate bark is still frozen, break it into large pieces with your hands (or you can use a fork or knife by just poking it through the chocolate and it will break into large pieces).
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
Candy Bark Recipe
Can I use a sugar-free chocolate substitute?
I have not personally tried it, so I can’t say how that would turn out. But if you would like to try it, please let me know how it turns out.
Can this chocolate bark be frozen?
Chocolate bark can be frozen. But again, remember that it is possible for the chocolate to bloom, so it might not be as pretty once you decide to use it.
