Greek Feta Chicken Pasta Salad, an easy to make side dish that is perfect for backyard bbq’s, tailgating, parties & so much more. It’s the all-purpose dish!
Do you love pasta salad? We sure do. It seems to be the perfect side dish to serve for so many different occasions. I like the versatility of mixing so many great flavors into one convenient dish. This Greek Feta Chicken Pasta Salad is so incredibly easy to make & is always the crowd favorite at all our parties.
I have mentioned it here before, but in case you don’t know, my mother-in-law was the salad queen. She was always coming up with something new & interesting to bring to all the gatherings they went to so often.
Because of this, I sometimes feel like I’m channeling her when I’m in the kitchen tossing this & that together to come up with the latest salad. This one I know she would love!
However, I try to make sure I either make some chicken the night before for dinner so I have leftovers for this recipe, or I pick up a rotisserie chicken to save time. When you get the prep work done ahead of time, this recipe is as easy as tossing all the ingredients together in a large bowl after cooking the pasta.
I think that’s why I love this recipe so much. It’s so incredibly simple, but all those flavors packed in there make it seem so much more complex. In addition to all those flavors, it just pairs so nicely with all those other summer flavors such as BBQ sauce, ranch dressing & so many others.

You really just can’t go wrong with this tender pasta, juicy tomatoes, feta cheese, grilled chicken & olives all tossed in a Greek dressing for the perfect make-ahead side dish. Make this for church potlucks, pool parties & so much more.
We love to pair this with fun summer grilling recipes such as burgers, ribs, hot dogs & more. It is always one of the first things to run out at all our backyard bbqs.
Here are some commonly asked questions
Can I add other mix-ins to this pasta salad?
Yes- of course. This would be great with chopped cucumbers, spinach, nuts or beans are all wonderful Greek add-ins. But you can stray from that list & add corn, celery, other types of meat or fish as well.
What is the best way to store extra pasta salad?
After serving, place pasta salad in an airtight container or cover your bowl with plastic wrap or tin foil. Be sure to label with the date before refrigerating. This recipe should keep for up to 2 days if not left out for too long. As with most things, it is important to get food into the refrigerator within 1 hour after serving to prevent bacteria growth.
How much pasta salad for a party?
This recipe will serve at least 12-15 people. So depending on your party, this might be enough. For larger parties, double this recipe.
Is pasta salad supposed to be cold?
Generally, yes. But many are served at either room temperature & some are even served warm. I tend to prefer chilled pasta salad because it is so easy when it comes to making it ahead of time & for enjoying leftovers as well.
HOW DO YOU MAKE Greek Feta Chicken Pasta Salad?
- Place pasta, olives, tomatoes, artichokes, and cheese in a large bowl.
- Add cooked & shredded chicken.
- Add the desired amount of dressing ( I start with about 3 ounces & then add to taste) and toss to coat.
- Serve immediately or store up to 2 days in the refrigerator.
Greek Feta Chicken Pasta Salad
What bowl do you recommend?
Because this recipe makes SO MUCH pasta salad – we love to use this stainless steel bowl that is wonderful for mixing everything from brownie batter, to casserole mixes to pasta salads like this one. Plus it’s REALLY AFFORDABLE too.
Is there a faster way to make the chicken?
I really love to use rotisserie chicken. It is so convenient for recipes like this. I typically pick up a couple of them & pull all the meat off. Then I portion it out into zip-top bags & freeze or refrigerate depending on when I plan on using it. I have seen pre-packaged rotisserie chicken at Costco as well, making it all the easier.
Another option would be to use canned chicken. Just open & drain before mixing into this recipe.
Do you add parsley along with the bowl of veggie ingredients?
Yes, you can add parsley when serving this recipe. It is always nice to add those little pops of green. Parsley is so underrated in my opinion. It really does make the food beautiful & a little goes a long way.
Can I make my own Vinaigrette?
Yes, you absolutely can. You will need 1/2 cup red wine vinegar, 1 tbsp minced garlic, 1 tbsp fresh chopped basil (or 1 tsp dried), 1/2 tsp dried oregano, 1/2 tsp dried marjoram (optional), 3 tbsp lemon juice, 3/4 cup olive oil & salt & pepper, to taste. Whisk together & keep refrigerated between uses for up to 1 week.
Can this be made with another type of noodle?
Absolutely. We have made this with elbow macaroni, sprials & even spaghetti noodles. It just depends on your preference. Keep in mind that the larger noodles will require a little more of the dressing to coat everything with that great flavor.
