Garlic Parmesan Pretzels, a super quick & easy snack that you can make in the oven or air fryer. Great for parties, holidays, game day & more.
Snacks are a big thing in our house. We do snacks in place of meals for every holiday to keep things easy and stress-free.
So of course we have recipes like these Garlic parmesan Pretzels to give those little twists some awesome flavor and make them irresistible. We have been making various versions of these pretzels for decades.
As usual, I like to keep things simple and the recipe to make these pretzels is just that – SIMPLE. If something is too complex or time-consuming, I’m definitely not going to make it when I have another half-dozen recipes to make along with it.
So quick and easy is where it is at. But that doesn’t mean we compromise flavor. These are super addictive.

Here are some commonly asked questions
What is the best way to store leftover parmesan pretzels?
So- this one gets a bit tricky. Pretzels tend to get soggy when refrigerated. But because we add the parmesan cheese (that isn’t baked on) to these pretzels, they would need to be refrigerated.
I recommend only making enough to enjoy the first day. You can keep them in an airtight container, and try to only make what you will be able to enjoy the same day.

Can these seasoned pretzels be made in the air fryer?

- Spread the buttered pretzels in the air fryer in an even layer.
- Cook at 350 for 3-4 minutes.
- Then transfer to the mixing bowl to continue with the remaining ingredients.
What air fryer do you use?
We actually have 3 air fryers. I have a smaller one from Phillips that we started with. I have since given that to my son since he’s only cooking for 1.
But the more I used the air fryer I realized I really wanted a digital screen. It wasn’t any more expensive, in fact- our XL air fryer from GoWISE was less expensive than the Phillips and I love its ease & extra functions.
Plus it comes with a lot of the extra accessories I like to use when cooking with my fryer.
But I when I started working on my second air fryer book, I wanted to change things up. I picked up this LARGE air fryer that has been wonderful. It has Touch Screen Presets plus it is XL Family Size, which is great!
Can this be made with another type of pretzel?
You bet! If you prefer the sticks – you can use those too. I also love making this recipe with sourdough pretzel bites. We also love to make this recipe with the pretzel snaps and braided pretzel twists.
Should I use salted or unsalted butter?
This is really a personal preference. If you are happy with just a little salt from the pretzels, then use unsalted butter.
I usually use whatever I have on hand, I really don’t pay much attention to what butter I have. But I typically keep salted butter on hand.

Could you comment on the type of pretzels 🥨 you use for this recipe? Thin or “hard” pretzels?
Gina Kleinworth says
Just the mini pretzel twists you find in a chip aisle at the market. They are usually hard, crunchy, and salted. You can do this with any type of hard pretzel – it doesn’t need to be complicated.
