Who loves Funfetti? With all those happy colors, you just can’t go wrong. So whether I’m looking for a way to brighten up any random day or make a big impact for a milestone celebration, Funfetti is always included. This time we made Frosted Funfetti Cake Mix Cookies that are over the top delicious!
Some ask, what on earth does a cake mix cookie taste like? Well, first, these cookies are super soft & chewy, which makes them some of my most-requested cookies ever.
Think of what it would taste like if a wedding cake & sugar cookies came together. Yep, that’s what these taste like! Only add super cute Funfetti that makes these oh so delectably good!

These Frosted Funfetti Cake Mix Cookies are incredibly simple to make. Just 5 ingredients & you don’t even have to use a mixer. Just add the cake mix, egg & oil to a large bowl & mix with a firm spatula.
Then it is as simple as scoop & bake. No chill time required.
Once cooled you can add your frosting in the easy to use pastry bag, which is great for clean up. Then just add the sprinkles. They are so cute & taste like a little bite of heaven.

Some common questions I get about these cookies…
Do I need to line the baking sheet?
YES! Please line the baking sheet with either a non-stick baking mat or just a simple sheet of parchment paper will do.
What size cookie scoop do you use?
I really like to use a medium scoop. Now when I say medium, that is what is defined when you do a random product search. By my standards, it seems small & almost every single time I question if, in fact, that is the same scoop I used previously.
But when you press each ball & then they bake, they really do turn out to be the perfect size for a cookie.
Where can I find this cake mix?
I pick up Pillsbury™ Funfetti Cake & Cupcake Mix along with all my other Pillsbury products at my local Kroger banner store, Fred Meyer. That is where you can find a great selection for all your baking needs.
Can I get the Funfetti sprinkles sold separately?
I don’t believe that you can. Currently, they are sold as part of the package on top of the cans of Pillsbury frosting. Since I always like to have a couple of those cans on hand for random dessert making on a whim, I picked up some & used just the sprinkles.
I know I’ll use the frosting on another recipe coming up, so it worked out great. You can just use the frosting in the can with the sprinkles if you like. I actually used the super easy Pillsbury Filled Pastry Bags in vanilla to keep these super simple.

Terrible recipe. You taste the rum in the cake, of which has a bad aftertaste. Kinda bitter. Deleting this 1!
Gina Kleinworth says
This recipe doesn’t call for rum. In fact, I don’t have any cookie recipes that use rum.
