Easy Pork Onion Gravy, a simple homemade gravy recipe that takes minutes to make. Great on all your favorite comfort foods. Perfect for the holidays too. Serve on your favorite dinner, pour a refreshing glass of iced tea & you’re set to make great family memories around the table.
We sure love gathering as a family around the table to enjoy amazing recipes passed down through the generations. For many years that is where memories have been made & shared with family. One of the ways we love to share our memories of our childhoods with the kids is to break out the old family cookbook & create those recipes with the kids. A favorite for us all, that we always make this time of year is grandma’s Pork Onion Gravy. It’s my favorite because it’s not a traditional chicken or beef. It pairs well with so many things. Seems like grandma was like me, she liked to think outside the box & twist on the traditional side of things.
Easy Pork Onion Gravy
One thing that is a must when having gravy, mashed potatoes. For years we made mashed potatoes the traditional way. But over time we shifted to making them in the slow cooker. It sure makes it easy to have comfort food at the end of a long day. We usually get these going right after breakfast & let them cook all day.
We always pair iced tea with dinner. You see, I’m a So Cal native & the hubs spent his summers with his grandparents there. There are a few times we almost crossed paths in the early years. One of the things we have in common is that our grandparents would always serve iced tea with lunch & dinner. So many of our fondest childhood memories have the one common theme, iced tea was there.
Adding iced tea to our daily meals sparks stories from our past to share with the kids. They love hearing all the stories of family they never had the chance to meet.
We prepared pork in one slow cooker & the potatoes in another just like we would prep any other dinner for the evening. It was literally set it & forget it. We brew the tea while we make the sides. Then all that was left was to make the gravy when it was time to serve.
We served up our comfort food & the family gathered around the table for good stories & a hearty meal.
Always present, Lipton iced tea. What Makes a Lipton Meal? To us, it’s moments that matter.
When it’s all said & done, we share more stories as we clean up as a family. Our family is key for us & family time is to be cherished.
