Easy Peach Cobbler is a quick & easy dessert recipe made with canned peaches & cake mix. 50 minutes & 3 ingredients are all you need for this tasty treat.
Do you love quick & easy dessert recipes? I really love those recipes that only require a handful of ingredients & are almost effortless to make, like this super easy peach cobbler that has the whole family swooning with every bite.
You see, when it comes to dessert around here, it is almost always a last-minute thought. Unless we are celebrating something or I happen to be making a recipe for a specific event, I never think ahead to what to have after dinner. Which seems strange, because dessert is hands-down my favorite part of the day.
But for some reason I never make seem to remember to make dessert & have it ready to enjoy right after dinner. It sort of happens when the hubs asks if we have anything for dessert & then has to put in a special request for me to make something. Which is why I keep a decent stack of my favorite easy dessert recipes on hand at all times.
Just like I love dump & go slow cooker or pressure cooker recipes, dessert is no different. I am tired at the end of the day & the last thing I want to do is stand in the kitchen making something tedious or labor-intensive. I need it & want it simple.
This cobbler is about as close as you’ll get to a dump & bake dessert. But it sure doesn’t taste that way. Fluffy & moist cake baked around sweet peaches & served alongside vanilla ice cream or with a dollop of whipped cream can’t be beaten.

I always find it utterly amazing that something this good can be made with such simple ingredients. Honestly, making the cake with just cake mix & a can of soda. It really is unbelievable.
My mom would be floored by that. She was a master at making cakes & she never tried something as simple as this with all the delicious desserts she would make. I know she would be head over heels in love with this easy dessert.
That being said, I am pretty sure I remember my grandmother making something like this when I was really young. I remember being in the kitchen with her & she would use some unique ingredients.
I thought it was strange at the time but was always impressed with the end result. But now that I have her old cookbooks, I’m finding that a lot of her recipes were ones like this. Clearly, she had the recipe hacks down to a science.
Here are some commonly asked questions
How do you serve Easy Peach Cobbler?
Once the cake is cooled, you can serve it up in a variety of different ways. I like it with just a little dusting of confectioner’s sugar on top. But my family loves to have it a la mode, which is great too.
Can I use frozen peaches for this recipe?
Yes, you can use canned, fresh or frozen. If you are using frozen, just make sure to thaw the peaches & pat them dry before adding to the pan. Baking from frozen will add a lot of extra moisture to the pan & change the consistency in the final result of the cobbler as well as the baking time.
Can I use fresh peaches for this recipe?
Yes, as I mentioned before, you can use fresh peaches for this recipe. However, make sure they are really ripe so they aren’t too firm. You will need to increase the cooking time to 55 minutes when using fresh peaches, but if they are too firm, you may need to bake longer. Just make sure they are fork tender before removing from the oven. If the top starts browning too much, tent with foil towards the end of the baking time so you can continue cooking those peaches.
Can this recipe be frozen?
I don’t recommend freezing this recipe once baked. It tends to become overly moist & soggy once thawed, which just isn’t good.
How can I reheat this cake?
Just place your slice on a microwave-safe plate & microwave for about 30 seconds. If you are reheating after it has been refrigerated, then you will want to microwave for 60-90 seconds.
HOW DO YOU MAKE EASY PEACH COBBLER?
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Spray a 9×13 pan with non-stick spray.
- Pour in canned fruit into prepared pan.
- Sprinkle cake mix over the top – do not mix.
- Pour soda over the top- making sure cake mix is moist- stirring gently with a fork.
- Bake @ 350 for 45 minutes.
- Sprinkle with confectioners sugar after cooling for about 5 minutes.
- Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.
Can this recipe be halved?
I don’t recommend trying to cut this recipe. Cutting this recipe in half would drastically change the baking time. For the best possible result, it would be better to make the recipe as it is written & then give away whatever portion you won’t use immediately.
Do you recommend this as a gift for the neighbors?
This Peach Cobbler makes a fabulous gifts for all your friends & neighbors. We like to pick up these disposable containers for gift giving. This is especially great on a Friday afternoon so they can have it to enjoy it for dessert over the weekend. You could also just use the reuseable dish & make that part of the gift.
Can this recipe be doubled?
I would recommend just making 2 cobblers & baking them side by side. I don’t recommend doubling the ingredients & then baking in one larger dish or trying to portion them out into separate baking dishes after combining. This would change the baking time & possibly dry out the edges while trying to get the center to bake.
How do you store this peach cobbler recipe?
The easiest way is to add some plastic wrap or foil over the top of the baking dish & store at room temperature. If you live in an overly humid or extremely dry climate, this cobbler will keep better if you refrigerate it. This way it is more climate controlled & will stay fresh for the longest possible time. Please enjoy within 2-3 days.
