Double Berry Freezer Jam is a simple homemade preserves recipe that takes just about 10 minutes. Perfect for all that summer fruit from the garden! It’s great with breakfast or paired with your peanut butter. I even like to add some to my ice cream!
Double Berry Freezer Jam
Like most people, I have a morning routine. The first thing I do after getting out of bed is push the button on the coffee maker so it can brew while I wrap up my phone cord & find some socks. Then I take my things out to the office, grab my full coffee mug off the coffee bar & head downstairs to get my creamer. That is what gets me alert enough to jump into the work of the day. By the time the kids get up several hours later I’m ready for breakfast. My son is the breakfast maker of the house & so he’s sweet enough to make me some toast or english muffin with some homemade jam.
There are times when we have some homemade cereal in the house or muffins or donuts to enjoy, but I really look forward to something I can spread a little jam on. Not sure why, but I love having a little taste of jam & I always pair that with another cup of coffee. This particular morning he was sweet enough to bring me a little bowl of pineapple too. He’s such a good boy.
My coffee is essential to my days. I really can’t get anything accomplished without it.
This particular morning I added some Simply Pure from International Delight. You remember a while back when I shared our coffee party with you, don’t you? I have been in love with this creamer ever since. Right now I am working on the Vanilla but my absolute favorite is the Salted Caramel.
But anyhow- back to the jam. For this, I used blueberries & strawberries. I literally just mashed them in a large bowl with a potato masher. Then I combined the packet of pectin with the sugar & water in a saucepan & heated to boiling while stirring. Then I just removed from the heat & stirred in my mashed berries. That was it before transferring to sterile jars. Simple & quick way to add a little sweetness to my morning. I love it because it makes 3 large jars, so it lasts for a while!
