Here are some commonly asked questions
Can this recipe be doubled?
You can double this recipe. The key is to not over-crowd the veggies or try to cook them in a double layer. They need to be spread out on the baking sheet for the best possible result.
So you can do two sheets and either use the convection setting on your oven (reducing the temp by 25 degrees before getting started) OR you can rotate the pans about halfway through the baking process.

Can I reduce the sugar in the recipe?
Yes – but I can’t say how it will taste or turn out as I have not tried it with a different amount of sugar. If you reduce the sugar in this recipe – please let me know how it turned out.

What is the best way to store leftover Brussels sprouts?
Place any leftover Brussels sprouts in an airtight container. Label with the date and keep refrigerated for up to 4 days. To reheat, place them in a microwave-safe container and microwave for 1-2 minutes or until hot again.
You can also pop them back into the oven and let them heat up for about 10 minutes.
Ingredients for Balsamic Brussel Sprouts
- Brussel sprouts halved
- olive oil
- salt to taste
- granulated sugar
- balsamic vinegar
- dried cranberries
Can I add bacon to these Balsamic Brussel Sprouts?
You bet – that would be delicious. I recommend either using real bacon bits or cooking the bacon separately and then tossing the chopped pieces in when you add the cranberries.
Otherwise, (depending on the thickness of the bacon) the bacon might not be cooked right – either not done or overdone because of the time it takes to roast the Brussel sprouts.
I have a great recipe for perfect oven-cooked bacon that makes it so easy.
