Juicy boneless pork chops are coated in a seasoned panko crust & air-fried until crispy to make Air Fryer Panko Crusted Pork Chops. A quick and easy dinner recipe everyone loves.

Don’t miss our Air Fryer Cauliflower for a simple side dish that’s easy to make and healthy too!
When I first got my air fryer, I couldn’t wait to make some awesome dinner recipes without ever turning on the oven.
The whole pre-heating step with the oven is such a time suck, so the air fryer makes me happy because it doesn’t require so much time before I’m ready to get cooking.
But what I really love about it is that I can feel a little less guilty about the foods we are eating because of the reduced oil used in the cooking process, thanks to the air fryer.

This particular pork chop recipe is my favorite because I just love panko and all its crunchy goodness. There is just something about it that I can’t get enough of. So good!
Here are some commonly asked questions
Can I use regular bread crumbs instead of panko?
Yes, that would work just fine and you could even grab the seasoned variety if you like. Definitely still delicious, but maybe just a little less crunchy than if you use panko.
What is panko?
Panko is Japanese breadcrumbs. It has a light & flaky texture & is typically used as a coating for fried or baked food. Definitely gives a crunchier texture and is always my preference over breadcrumbs whenever a recipe calls for them.
What air fryer do you use?
We actually have 3 air fryers. I have a smaller one from Phillips that we started with. I have since given that to my son since he’s only cooking for 1.
But the more I used the air fryer I realized I really wanted a digital screen. It wasn’t any more expensive, in fact- our XL air fryer from GoWISE was less expensive than the Phillips and I love its ease & extra functions.
Plus it comes with a lot of the extra accessories I like to use when cooking with my fryer.
But I when I started working on my second air fryer book, I wanted to change things up. I picked up this Chefman 6.3 Quart Digital Air Fryer+ Rotisserie, Dehydrator, Convection Oven. It has 8 Touch Screen Presets (Fry, Roast, Dehydrate & Bake, BPA-Free, Auto Shutoff) & Accessories Included. It is XL Family Size, which is great!

The only thing I did differently was left off the chili powder, because I didn’t have any in my cabinet when I decided to try these; and I added extra Parmesan cheese. They were seriously the best pork chops I have ever eaten. They were so juicy and tender. I will be adding this recipe to my weekly dinner planner.

You just made my day! I am so happy to hear that. Thank you, Rhonda!

These were the best pork chops I’ve ever had! We had some nice thick bone in chops and it was beyond restaurant quality. Thanks for sharing this recipe!
Andrea says
These chops were delicious and easy to make! My family loved them:)
Valerie says
Great meal! Will definitely have these again. In our Cosori air fryer, the cook time ended up to be six minutes on one side, then four minutes after turning.

We too have the Ninja XL and are just learning how to best use it. You say to preheat air fryer—under which feature—roast or air fry or? I made this using air fry as that is implied by “preheat air fryer” but while the flavor was 5 stars, my chops were also dry and tough at 145 degrees. I appreciate your thoughtful recipes for families and the flavor totally deserves 5 stars. Can you please advise on which setting you use, please?
Gina Kleinworth says
This recipe was created back when air fryers were just hitting the market – they didn’t have all the added settings and were much smaller in capacity. It was time and temperature – so just use the standard air fry setting. Also, air fryers are a lot like slow cookers – every single one will run a little hotter or colder than a similar one. Always adjust for your particular machine. There are so many on the market with different sizes and efficiency now that most recipes will need to be adjusted slightly (usually with cooking time) to account for the differences.

Wonderful! Used leftover panko mix to coat potato wedges – yum!
Pris says
These were SO good and fool proof! Hubs and I devoured them for dinner tonight.
Dana says
12 min was not long enough for my boneless chops. Still had bloody centers. Had to figure out how to cook longer without drying out. Maybe this is meant for really thin chops?
Gina Kleinworth says
Yes -the thickness of the chops will have an effect, as will the type of air fryer, how crowded the pieces are in the basket.
As a rule, air frying times are always approximate because the machines themselves vary so greatly. I get a different result with each of my machines – so I make sure to check the internal temp and look for visual doneness cues.

My boneless loin chops were 1 1/2″ thick and this recipe cooked perfect chops. My husband even remarked how tasty and jiucy they were. Wonderful chops,

This recipe works great for boneless skinless chicken breasts as well. I cooked at 390F for 20 minutes though. I don’t mess around when comes to cooking chicken. So good!

Tried this with an Air Fryer my nephew gave me. It was delicious! Thank you for the recipe.

OMG….all I can say is DELISH!!!! Thanks so much for an awesome recipe. Hubby loved.
Served with Riced Cauliflower Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, and sautéed green beans. Will definitely make again.

This is my first thing to cook in my Ninja Max XL. I followed the recipe exactly and they looked beautiful but they were very dry. I used boneless and they were about 1/2 inch, maybe a tad more thick. They were so nice and crispy but not moist. What did I do wrong?
Gina Kleinworth says
I’m sorry to hear about that. At the time the recipe was written air fryers were still relatively new on the market and the one I was using was far less powerful than the newer ones today.
Every air fryer is a bit different and they all cook at different rates – so in general, all cooking times are approximate based on the pan and temperature.
You can always cook the recipe longer or for less time if needed or reduce the heat a bit. If needed, you can tent the top if it is browning too much. In this case, I would recommend basing doneness on internal temp and color rather than the set cooking time since it sounds like you have a newer and more powerful air fryer.
Holly says
My husband always complains that pork chops are dry or tough. But not need these. Fantastic recipe for moist, delicious chops. Love them.
Phil Cooper says
Are cooking times different if you are making 5 chops at the same time?
Gina Kleinworth says
You might need to increase the time depending on how crowded it makes the air fryer. Increase by a couple of minutes and check them – continue as needed until they reach the specified internal temp.
Andrew says
I can’t wait to make this recipe Sunday! For the parmesan cheese, is that the powder or the freshly shredded
Gina Kleinworth says
Because you want it to blend in with the panko, use the powder. But you can always add the shredded as well.
Tina says
This is the best ever! I forgo the seasoning except because I use a coffee rub and let that sit for a couple hours!
LAUREN Beth CAPE says
This was AMAZING! Due to the size of my pork chops, I did the 12 minutes and then flipped for another minute, flipped for one more minute. You can tell when they’re golden on the outside that they’re perfectly done on the inside. I topped mine with Korean barbecue sauce. I will absolutely be making this a staple in my kitchen!
Laken says
This recipe was so good! My pork chops were boneless and 1 inch thick , the 12 minutes came out perfect. My last batch I added some ranch seasoning to the mix and we enjoyed them both ways. This recipe is definitely a keeper.
