Hi there! I’m Gina – Welcome to Yummi Haus. I’m so happy to have you here! I look forward to sharing with you all of my favorite things we create here in our little piece of Hawaii paradise.

No matter if you are feeding a family or it’s just you and your spouse, you’ll find all the best easy, nostalgic, simplified recipes here. From homestyle breakfasts, savory snacks, satisfying dinners, and delicious treats both cold and cozy that will remind you of “what grandma used to make”, that’s what we’re all about because those are our favorites.

My husband and I are empty nesters. We sold our 20-acre homestead in the northern part of Idaho and relocated to the Big Island of Hawaii. We live with our beloved family of 2 chihuahuas and 3 naked sphynx kitties. We start each day walking to the cliffs and taking in the ocean air. We love exploring the sights and, of course, all the flavors of the island. We have 3 adult children and 1 grandchild all back in Idaho.

We started this site back in 2008 as Kleinworth & Co. (kleinworthco.com) as a fun way to share our daily lives with family. Over time I found that I was sharing more of our daily recipes and DIY projects and it just grew from there.

When we purchased our cozy Idaho homestead the site transformed into Taste of the Frontier – as I was sharing more and more of our homesteading recipes and life. We never dreamed we would be empty nesters so soon after and thought we would be living the frontier life forever. As life does – it all changed faster than I ever thought it could and my dream of living in Hawaii became a reality. So here we are – living the island life and soaking up the sun and surf.

The recipes you find here were created to make memories and I hope that you will be able to enjoy making memories with your family using these recipes too.
