Begin by making your cookie dough as you usually would by creaming together the butter and sugar and then add in the rest of the ingredients. Chill dough for 1 hour or overnight.
Roll out your cookie dough to be 1/4 inch thick and cut with cookie cutters into desired shapes. Cut out the center of each cookie and place dough on prepared baking sheets.
Remove the cookies from oven and let them cool on wire rack ON THE BAKING SHEET for 5 minutes before removing them from the baking sheet and letting them cool completely on the wire rack before storing.
