Hawaiian Bratwurst Sausage Recipe cooked to perfection. Perfect for Father’s Day! Brat lovers will swoon over this easy sweet & savory combo for dinner.
We love bratwurst in this house! It’s on the menu often, especially when it comes to summer holidays like Father’s Day & 4th of July. For us, it just wouldn’t be the same if we didn’t have some delectable brats to enjoy. Since we are getting close to Father’s Day I started prepping recipes, testing which ones I want to serve when the day actually rolls around. One was a surefire hit- this Hawaiian Bratwurst Sausage Recipe. It’s the perfect sweet & savory combo.
Hawaiian Bratwurst Sausage Recipe
We started with Johnsonville Bratwurst, BBQ sauce, provolone, pineapple, chives & paprika (not shown).
We used the NEW Johnsonville Sizzling Sausage Grill to cook the sausages. This really makes all the difference in the end result. We love it because it seals the sausages completely when locked so that the sausages are cooked and browned evenly AND all the juices & flavors don’t escape.
I can tell you, this really IS key to locking in the best flavor. It’s absolute perfection with every bite.
Just look at them- they are perfect. Trust me on this, we have enjoyed a fair share of brats in this house & cooking them this way far surpasses any other method we have used. Plus it’s quick- ready in less than 15 minutes. It was the perfect early Father’s Day gift for the hubs.
Once they were ready I placed some cheese in the bun & topped with the brat. Then I brushed the brat with BBQ sauce, added a little pineapple & chives. Then a dusting of paprika & they were ready to enjoy.
Honestly, this is my favorite way to enjoy these brats.
Ditch the traditional toppings & give this one a go. It’s different & oh so tasty!
Doesn’t that look so good? Mmmm I’m really looking forward to making these again for Father’s Day!

Looks yummy! I tend to eat brats plain because I never know what to put on them. That grill looks interesting. We don’t cook enough sausage to justify it but it looks pretty cool. #HappyNow
