It’s sort of sad because I have to stop sharing all these delicious frozen desserts with you all. But at the same time, I’m excited because I have SO MANY fall recipes headed your way. But before we get to that- you have to make this Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream.

This is one of those recipes that the hubs put on special request for his birthday this past week. I typically get cheesecake or peanut butter requests from him. But this time he was all about the mint chocolate chip. I can’t blame him & I was so happy to oblige. I love an excuse to whip some of this up.
All that wonderful nostalgic flavor from making it homemade. No ice cream maker or special equipment required. Just whip, mix & freeze & your have yourself some mint chocolate chip heaven in a bowl.
It’s so incredibly wonderful! All my chocolate mint lovers in this house are swooning!
You absolutely must give it a try!
Here are some commonly asked questions
Can I use half and half?
No, unfortunately for this recipe you will need the full-fat of heavy cream. Using half & half will make for an icier consistency vs a creamy ice cream.
How many can this serve?
This recipe makes about 4 cups, so it will depend on your portion sizes. We were able to get at least 5 ice cream cones with 2 scoops each out of this batch – with a little leftover.

Can this recipe be doubled?
You can, and we do it often. If you have the larger mixer or a super big mixing bowl you can double this recipe and then divide between 2 pans for freezing.
HOW DO YOU MAKE Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream?
- Combine the whipping cream, sweetened condensed milk & mint extract in the mixer bowl and beat for 4-6 minutes on medium-high speed. (as fast as you can mix it without it spattering out of the bowl). The mixture should look light & creamy.
- Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container & lightly sprinkle in your chocolate mint pieces.
- Take a butter knife & drag it through the mixture to incorporate some of the mint pieces throughout without making them all sink to the bottom.
- Cover & freeze 8-10 hours, preferably overnight to solidify before serving. If you try to serve too soon, while it is semi-soft, the mixture will melt quite quickly & become a soupy mess.

Looks good! Pinned to my Frozen Treats board. Look forward to trying it. Lately I make vanilla at least twice a week in my kitchen aid ice cream maker attachment – love that thing.

Very nice recipe. It came out very well. I used vanilla instead of mint and mini semi sweet morsels instead of Andes candy. It was a hit. Thanks for the great recipe. I will make it again soon.
