Pumpkin Butter Donuts, an easy baked mini donut recipe with homemade pumpkin butter. Makes a delicious treat with your morning coffee or an afternoon snack.
Oh my – do I have a breakfast treat for you all today!!! It’s been a while since I shared a donut recipe with you & so I’m super excited about this one.
It’s absolutely heavenly because I used the Slow Cooker Pumpkin Butter I shared with you all last week & then I sprinkled a little granola on these for fun. SO AMAZING I tell you!! This is definitely my favorite donut recipe to date.

I love these because it’s got that wonderful fall hint of spices & the pumpkin butter really gives them a full & rich flavor.
I used my mini donut maker for this. It was an impulse buy- but for LESS THAN $20 you really can’t beat the deal. Especially when you can make some awesome homemade donuts with it in little time.
Mini Pumpkin Donuts
I know that I can whip out some quick & easy donuts in a few minutes & have breakfast for the weekend. Recipes like these using pumpkin butter just make those chilly fall mornings even better.
Incredibly moist & soft. Since these are minis – I feel a little less guilty eating them too.
Just a hint of glaze drizzled over is just the right amount – to not overpower the pumpkin butter flavor.
You DO NOT want to miss out on these!! Try them!!!!

Here are some commonly asked questions
What is the best way to store leftover pumpkin donuts?
I store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Can this recipe be cut in half?
Oh of course! If you only need a dozen donuts instead of 2 dozen – this recipe reduces easily. But do keep in mind that these are mini donuts – so they go quickly.
Also – when making the full-size donuts in the oven, this batter will only make 6.
HOW DO YOU MAKE Mini Pumpkin Donuts?
- Preheat donut maker or if using an oven for full-size donuts- preheat to 350 degrees.
- Add flour, sugar, and baking powder to the bowl – make a well in the center.
- Add in milk & eggs – whisk to combine until the milk & eggs are mostly absorbed.
- Whisk in the butter until mostly combined.
- Add molasses & pumpkin butter – whisk well until completely combined.
- Transfer to a large frosting bag & pipe into the wells of your preheated donut maker. Or spoon the batter into your regular-sized donut pan.
- Cook for 6 minutes in the donut maker or bake for 10 minutes in the oven.
- Remove & allow to cool completely on a wire rack. Repeat until all your batter is used.
Glaze
- Prepare the glaze by whisking ingredients together in a small bowl.
- Drizzle the glaze over the tops of the donuts or dip the tops of the donuts in the glaze & then sprinkle them with granola.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- Re-heat in microwave about 10-15 seconds before eating.

Can I use a sugar substitute?
I have not personally tried it, so I can’t say how that would turn out. But if you would like to try it, I suggest a product that offers a 1:1 swap. Please let me know how it turns out.
Should I use salted or unsalted butter?
This is really a personal preference. If you are happy with just a little salt to cut the sweetness, then use salted butter.
I usually use whatever I have on hand & I really don’t pay too close attention to what butter I have. But I typically keep salted butter on hand & I love that little bit of extra salt with the sweet in this recipe.
These days with groceries being more difficult to find – I basically get whatever the store has available at the time and make it work.
How do I properly measure the flour?
The official way is to spoon the flour into the measuring cup & level off. This makes sure the flour isn’t packed tightly into your measuring cup, adding more than you need, as that will make your recipe too dry.
However – if you fluff your flour with a spoon, then gently scoop the flour into the measuring cup, taking care to not pack the flour – that should work for this recipe.
baked pumpkin donuts
To make Mini Pumpkin Butter Donuts you will need…
- all-purpose flour
- granulated sugar
- baking powder
- milk
- eggs – lightly beaten
- butter- melted & cooled slightly
- pumpkin butter
- molasses
- confectioners sugar
- milk
- granola
Can I use a gluten-free flour?
I’m not sure just yet. I have been meaning to give this a try but haven’t had a chance. If you do try this, I would recommend using a 1:1 flour like this one as I don’t believe it would require additional ingredients that are typically called for when trying to make baked recipes in a gluten-free version. Please come back & tell me how it turned out.
