Don’t miss my Fall Table Setting I’m sharing over at Design, Dining & Diapers today.
I don’t know about you- but one thing I really look forward to this time of year is candy corn. I LOVE IT! It usually doesn’t last long enough in this house to make it into recipes. But I was really good & used all self control this time because when I bought it- I had this recipe in mind. I knew that the mix of the brownies, the dough & the colors of the candy corn would make the perfect Fall/ Halloween treat.
Candy Corn Cookie Dough Brownies
I thought I might hold off on the Halloween type posts until at least October 1st. But I just couldn’t help myself with this one.
The thought of it kept swirling around in my head & the craving just got stronger & stronger.
The heat made a week long return after we had such fall like temps.
But I ran the oven anyway because I just couldn’t wait any longer to make these.
Oh my- so decadent. One with a tall glass of milk will take care of any brownie, cookie dough or candy corn craving you might be having.
Candy Corn Cookie Dough Brownies
Ingredients
- Your favorite brownies - baked & cooled boxed or homemade
- 3/4 cup butter 1-1/2 sticks
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp milk
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 cup candy corn
Instructions
- Bake your brownies & allow to cool to room temperature.
- For the dough- beat butter & your sugars in mixer bowl until well combined.
- Add in your flour, milk & vanilla. Beat until combined- don't over beat.
- Fold in mini chocolate chips
- Spread out in even layer over the top of your brownies.
- Scatter your candy corn over the top & press in
- Cover & refrigerate several hours before cutting.
- Cut while cold & remove from pan. (I recommend close to bite size- not large pieces)
- Allow to come close to room temperature before serving.
- Store in air tight container for several days.

I’m not too interested in anything “candy corn”, but I did really like the fall place setting ideas in your first link. I’ll give it a try.

I am a shameless candy corn/indian corn/autumn mix eater, along with hubs. We love it with the little Spanish peanuts also, oh so bad but tastes so disgustingly good. We’re terrible, no self control what so ever when we have it in the house. He can afford to eat whatever he wants but I shouldn’t, hence I’ll never be skinny, love eating things I shouldn’t too much. Loved your place settings, corn husks are very handy.
How do you like being in northern Idaho? A bit different than so. Ca. huh? In 92 we moved from San Diego area to Mt on 20 acres on a lake in the country. Talk about a culture shock. I was a bit older than you are I think, was 52 when we moved. We’d lived in S.D area for 21 yrs. But did I love it, the space, people taking us for the kind of people we were, not what we had or kind of car we drove, how big our house was. It was so refreshing for me anyway. I loved it in MT.
I always was a beach nut even tho we lived inland. I guess at 52 I was ready for different way of thinking and living. We were about 32 miles from Helena. Our address was a small town 24 miles west of us. Our mail box was 1 1/2 miles from our property. Probably hardest thing was hubs had to drive over the road instead of being home every night. That made winter a bit harder for me but I adjusted, did just fine on my own. Lonesome but kept myself busy working and my crafts met some nice people where I worked in Helena.
Hope you’re happy up there. Love to hear from you, exchange feelings about a big move like that. Happy days.

Hi JaneEllen – so nice to meet you.
We love being here in Northern Idaho. It’s quite a change from where we were but everything we ever dreamed about. It’s truly an amazing place. Growing up in SoCal was wonderful but it has changed so much that we knew we couldn’t go back. This was a good fit for us. We have wanted to make the 2 hour drive to MT & spend some time in Missoula but have not had the chance yet. Drove through on the move & knew we would love to return for a weekend or two.
Certainly is some breathtaking country in these parts. Couldn’t ask for anything more.
Have a great weekend.

Those look delicious! I recently discovered you can buy candy corn in bulk at Winco, a good thing to know and a bad thing;)

Oh goodness- I sure love the bulk section at Winco. Right now we head across the state line to go there- fortunately it’s only a 30 min drive but so worth it. But we are getting one in the next town over here in Nov. I’m super excited about that. Candy Corn in bulk is a dangerous thing for me though 🙂
